Pastor accused of rape arrested at airport

A New Jersey pastor accused of raping and impregnating a girl was arrested by U.S. Customs and Border Protection agents upon arriving at a local airport from Ecuador.

At this time, the man is being held in an Essex County jail as he awaits extradition to Pennsylvania. The man is accused of raping the teenage girl, who lived with him, his wife, and their three children.

According to recent news reports, another pastor where the man worked said that he admitted to getting the girl pregnant.

Earlier this month, West Whiteland police noted that an attorney representing the man said he was out of the country but had plans to turn himself in upon his return to the United States.

In addition to rape, he has also been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, institutional sexual assault, furnishing liquor to a minor, and corruption of a minor.

Along with this, police also uncovered a second allegation that the pastor had another inappropriate relationship, this one taking place in Arizona.

Fortunately, officials at Calvary Fellowship, as well as the man's wife and children, are cooperating with the police investigation, and nobody else is expected to be charged with a crime.

When individuals in Pennsylvania find themselves charged with so many serious crimes, it is important that they understand what they are faced with, including the potential consequences. The legal system ensures that anybody charged with a crime has his or her day in court. This helps everybody involved better understand both sides of the story, as well as what the future holds.
