Being charged with a sex crime is devastating, especially if it involves children. This is a serious charge and sometimes the authorities are more concerned with making an arrest than with finding the culpable suspect. A 51-year-old man has been accused of compiling footage of young boys changing in a locker room at a local water park into a movie called “Water Park Fun.” He allegedly shared this video online according to the court documents.
They also allegedly found over 1,000 videos that have suspected child pornography on them at his Springfield Township home. There were also at least 100 DVDs and 8 mm videotapes that had surreptitious activity on them, as the man allegedly had hidden a camera in his gym bag to made videos from the footage. Even more damning is footage that appears to show the man carrying a camera bag.
According to the initial criminal complaint, the water park wasn’t mentioned as being a place where the man took videos of the young boys. But after the feds filed their indictment against the man, their allegations included that information.
The man allegedly zeroed in on the boys’ genitals. He faced similar charges in 1996 for secretly recording boys changing clothes in the park.
If you or a loved one have been charged with a sex crime, you may want to research the laws of Pennsylvania and call in an experienced attorney who can help guide you through the legal process. The best idea is to politely decline to talk to the authorities and request an attorney.
