Pennsyvlania private school principal accused of sex crimes

A west Philadelphia private school principal has been taken into custody on charges that he sent sexually explicit texts to a teenage girl. The 62-year-old man served as both Head of School and teacher at a private school in Thornbury Township. He was arrested on July 3, 2015, following an investigation.

The victim of the sexually explicit texts was 14 or 15 years of age when the incidents happened. According to officials, the principal and the girl were in daily communication with one another. According to authorities, the man told the girl she should not "fight the love," and on numerous occasions he invited her to visit him in the bathroom and that he loved her.

Police allege that the man touched the teen girl's buttocks, taught her how to pleasure herself and asked her to delete their text messages. Furthermore, police allege that he told her not to tell others about their relationship due to the risk he would go to jail.

According to the district attorney of Chester County, the man was in a position, as principal, to exercise his control over children and manipulate them. The man served as a teacher at the school since 2004 and has served as the principal since 2012. The man also worked in Delaware County and Massachusetts County in the past. Following his arrest, he was terminated from his position at the west Philadelphia school.

Even in cases of very serious sex crimes allegations, accused Pennsylvania residents will always have the opportunity to defend themselves against the charges in court. While obtaining a verdict of not guilty is not possible in all cases, in some cases, the accused persons can achieve a favorable result in their proceedings through the application of different defense techniques.
