Road rage on Pennsylvania Route 741 leads to criminal charges

With the increased volumes of vehicles and the resulting traffic situations, combined with our rushed lives, incidents of road rage are not uncommon. However, Pennsylvania motorists and their passengers may want to control their rage, as it may lead to criminal charges. Altercations between complete strangers can lead to physical confrontations in an instant.

An alleged incident of road rage that occurred in Lancaster County recently led to the state filing criminal charges against two men. On a Wednesday afternoon in April, two men in a sedan were traveling on Route 741, when the passenger reportedly got involved in an argument with the driver of a truck. The quarrel continued for some distance while they were driving, before both vehicles pulled off the road.

It was reported that the confrontation became physical, and the passenger of the sedan allegedly stabbed the driver of the truck, who is now reported to be recovering from stab wounds inflicted to his side and his neck. The 59-year-old passenger of the red sedan is now facing a charge of aggravated assault, and the driver was not charged. The 46-year-old driver of the truck is facing charges of reckless driving and endangering the life of another person.

Pennsylvania residents who are facing criminal charges may realize that it can have dire consequences. Even charges that seemed minor at the time may potentially limit one's freedom and lead to multiple future problems. A person in such a situation would be wise to make use of available help to effectively protect his or her rights and ensure the best possible outcome.
